1. Purpose and scope

Venue verification helps us assess whether a business exists, a representative appears authorised, a listing is credible and payouts can be made. It reduces risk but is not a guarantee of venue quality, solvency, legal compliance or future performance.

2. Checks we may carry out

  • match company name, number, status, registered office and officers against Companies House;
  • check the representative's identity, age, address and relationship to the business;
  • confirm ownership, operating authority or permission to list the venue;
  • review bank, payout and business details through Stripe Connect;
  • review venue, space or activity-specific licences, insurance and compliance evidence; and
  • assess fraud, sanctions, account, device, document and transaction risk signals.

3. Documents and evidence

Depending on the business and venue, we may request a valid passport or driving licence, recent proof of residential address, company or trading-address evidence, Companies House details, a lease, title or management agreement, bank or payout evidence, public-liability insurance, alcohol or premises licence, food registration, fire-safety or occupancy evidence, and any activity-specific permission.

Requests are risk-based. Do not upload more information than requested. Documents must be current, complete, readable and unaltered. Space-specific evidence should be attached to the relevant space where it does not apply across the whole venue.

4. Outcomes and human review

We may approve, ask for more evidence, restrict particular features or spaces, pause, reject or refer an application for human review. Automated matches and provider signals support rather than replace our review. A representative may explain a mismatch or provide alternative evidence by contacting [email protected].

A venue cannot publish a listing that accepts online payments until required payout information and Stripe Connect onboarding are complete. Approval may be conditional on keeping licences, insurance and listing information current.

5. Ongoing monitoring and badge meaning

We may repeat checks after material account changes, expiry of evidence, complaints, payment disputes or risk events. Partners must notify us of changes to ownership, authority, address, banking, licences, insurance or venue operation. A verification badge means the stated checks were completed at a point in time; it is not a warranty or endorsement.

6. How verification data is handled

Access to verification evidence is restricted. We use it for review, marketplace safety, fraud prevention, disputes and legal obligations and retain it only as described in our Privacy Policy. Stripe independently processes information submitted to Stripe Connect under Stripe's privacy terms.
