1. About this policy
This policy explains how Mark Evans, a sole trader trading as Venues2U (“Venues2U”, “we”, “us” or “our”), uses cookies and similar browser-storage technologies across venues2u.com, partners.venues2u.com, our mobile applications and other Venues2U services that link to this policy.
Cookies are small files placed on a device. Similar technologies include local storage, IndexedDB, pixels and software development kits that store information on, or access information from, a device.
2. Essential authentication and security
We use browser storage that is necessary to provide account access, remember an authenticated session, protect the service and prevent misuse.
| Technology | Provider | Purpose | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|---|
venue_owner_session | Venues2U | Indicates that a venue owner is signed in so Venues2U pages can show the appropriate owner-portal link. | Up to 12 hours |
venue_owner_id_token | Venues2U | Stores an authentication token used to securely access the partner portal and its API. | Until sign-out, session invalidation or browser data is cleared |
| Firebase Authentication storage | Google Firebase | Maintains sign-in state and supports account authentication, email verification and multi-factor authentication. | Until sign-out, session invalidation or browser data is cleared |
| App Check and reCAPTCHA security data | Helps distinguish legitimate traffic from automated abuse and protects authentication and API services. | Determined by Google and the relevant security configuration | |
| Payment and identity session technologies | Stripe | Supports fraud prevention and completes a payment or identity-verification service requested by the user. | Determined by Stripe and the relevant service |
These technologies are used only where necessary to provide a service requested by the user or protect that service. Blocking or deleting them may sign a user out or prevent account, payment or verification features from working.
3. Analytics and advertising
At the date of this policy, Venues2U does not use advertising pixels or non-essential behavioural-tracking cookies on its public marketing or partner-acquisition pages.
If we introduce non-essential analytics, advertising or personalisation technologies, we will update this policy and, where required, obtain consent before activating them, provide clear accept and reject choices, and allow users to change or withdraw consent later.
We may use limited aggregate statistical analytics without prior consent where the law permits. If we rely on this exception, it will be used solely to understand and improve the service, not for advertising or identifying individuals, and users will be given a simple, free way to object.
4. Third-party services
Essential functionality may be supplied by Google Firebase, Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise, Stripe and Microsoft Azure. When a user interacts with one of these services, the provider may use its own cookies or browser-storage technologies under its privacy documentation.
5. Managing browser storage
Most browsers allow users to view, delete or block cookies and stored website data under settings such as “Privacy”, “Cookies” or “Site data”. Removing essential storage may prevent users from signing in, maintaining a secure session, completing verification or using payment and booking features.
6. Changes and contact
We may update this policy when our technology, providers or legal obligations change. The current version will always show its latest revision date.
